Making Christmas Brighter for Those in Need
In the face of uncertain times, Christmas becomes especially important to children. But while children may long for new toys, often their families are more concerned with providing them with basic necessities. The Santa Clothes Club helps make the season a little easier for those families in need, providing new, warm clothing for their children. The generosity of many people in the tri-state makes this possible
A Letter from our President Mr. Doug Padgett
Christmas is a wonderful time for a child...and giving to children is what hundreds of
Santa Clothes Club members do during the Christmas season.
Here are some simple facts about this unusual club...

• The
Santa Clothes Club was organized in 1946 to provide
new clothing
for needy grade school children. After 62 years, this need still exists.

•
This year,
One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) will completely clothe one
boy or
girl with an outfit from Wal-Mart Super Center, which includes

1 pair of pants, 1 shirt/top, 9 pair underwear, 10 pair socks, shoes, gloves

and a Winter hooded coat. Our goal this year is to raise $250,000 so we

can clothe approximately 2,500 needy Tri-State school children.

• The names of the children are obtained through the school systems in

Vanderburgh, Warrick, Gibson, Posey in Indiana and Henderson County

in Kentucky. The children receive their clothing from mid-October

through mid-November so they will have the coats before cold weather.

• Every year, a telethon is aired on
NEWS 25 in order to raise funds for

the campaign. This year the telethon will be on
Sunday, December 6th,
beginning at 12:00PM until 6:00PM at Washington Square Mall.
Remember,
One Hundred dollars will outfit
One Child...but whatever you give in the envelope will make you a member again in a program that says..."
MERRY CHRISTMAS"... in a very special way. Thanks so much!
Sincerely,

Doug Padgett, President
Santa Clothes Club, Inc.
